Default Spade bit

Started building a new Spade bit today. I am using the old ways to make it. This is the mouthpiece made from a solid 1" round bar I found on the floorboard of an old model A in the boneyard. The steel is very old and should be pretty sweet.

Default Nice!

That is very interesting. Do you have a picture of the finished product? I would be interested to see the different steps involved in making this piece of art. I also like the music that goes along with the video. Who is it? Thanks for taking the trouble to video tape this and post it on line.

I find it unbelievable cool that you are turning ancient car pieces into new bits. Thanks for sharing that.

Way to recycle! I have an old mill that has a whole lot of iron and steel lying around. I wonder if it's anything you could use? I'll have to pick around and see what's there.

That is very cool ! I watched your other video of the forging process. I can't wait to see more. Like how you put the cricket in and the braces and make the cheek peices. The most I've ever forged was a set of horseshoes and they weren't great. It's fun to watch someone that knows what they are doing.
