Default A nice ride to watch

This is a good example of how to handle a two rein in my opinion. Any thoughts?

I have always said the man has fabulous hands (& seat & leg & balance . . . . . ).

Have to agree he handles the mecate with just a slight feel in the bridle reins, just to give the horse a "taste" of the feel of the bit.

I have ridden my horse a few times in the 2 rein and have found it hard to get used to holding the mecate & romal reins in my hand. My mentor has never recommended doing it the way Buck is riding in the video - But I think I will try it!

I ride with Mike Bridges and he has only shown us the different "finger speads" to use. I will have to ask him about it.

Thanks for sharing.

I'd love to hear what he has to say about it.

Default 2 rein

Thanks for sharing this video.
Having people talking about two rein and then watching it are very different. I now understand the rhythm of using two rein. Somehow it makes perfect sense.

Very nice ride, very nice rein control, and very nice to the horse. Do you agree?

Steve, don't know if you have ever had the opportunity to watch Buck truly work, but his manner does not change in his use of equipment whether he is sitting in an arena giving a clinic or doctoring cattle on his home place in WY. Truly a great mentor!

PurpleSageEquine,

Fortunately I have had the pleasure of watching Buck on a number of ocassions here in a Aust., truly a pleasure and inspiration. I also had the good fortune to attend a number of Ray Hunt's clinics, head is still realing with the info he passed on and the last one was late 2008

regards
Steve

Default Hi

I hope you wrote down some of the things you learned, what are some of the things that impressed you the most. How very fantastic that you got to see Ray!
