Default How important is the weight of the mecate?

Buenos Dias !

Mmmm.. I have a question that are around my head ..
why is the weight in the mecate important in each stage. ?

The weight of the mecate has a lot to do with the drop off point of the hackamore. I like my larger hackamores 3/4ths, 5/8ths, and 1/2" to have a "heart" or a core to them. This gives the mecate life and adds to the signal and balance of the hackamore.
